8TH GRADE GRADUATION ACTIVITIES 2008
8th Grade Parents - Plans are underway for the 8th grade Graduation activities. Grad Night will be held Friday June 6th, and the Raging Waters Day will be Tuesday June 10th. A Huge Thank You to those who have volunteered already, but more parents are needed to make these events fun and special for our kids! Please contact the Egan Graduation Chairperson if you can help. There are several areas of opportunity.
We celebrate graduation with awesome events! Tickets are available for one week only. Ticket price includes:
- Admission to Grad Night Party
- Admission to Raging Water (including lunch and drinks)
- Bus transportation to and from Raging Waters
- NO admission cost to Portfolio Day or Graduation Ceremony

- WHERE: Los Altos Youth Center (LAYC), One North San Antonio Road, Los Altos, (between the Los Altos City Hall and the Police Department)
- Dancing, games (such as DDR and Twister) , crafts, photos, and more!
- Light refreshments will be served; no dinner provided
- Dress is dressy casual; school dress code applies
- Students must stay the entire time (until 10 pm) unless excused by a parent

Students must be on time to their first period class, as they will be leaving at 8:40am for Raging Waters. The bus will be returning to Egan between 3:30 and 4:00pm.
The ticket price includes lunch provide by Raging Waters. Students will be asked to choose between a hot dog, hamburger, or veggie burger at the time of ticket purchase. Raging Waters does not allow food to be brought into the park. The only exception is a bottled water. The PTA (through donations) will be bringing bottled water for the students although you still may want to send one. Students may bring money to purchase additional food or drink from the food concessions in the main area of the park.
The following items are recommended for the day: swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, bottled water, hat and a backpack for belongings. Nylon swimwear is recommended for all water attractions. For safety reasons, long pants, cut-offs, denim, or swimsuits with rivets or exposed ornaments are not permitted on the attractions. Jewelry/electronics/iPods/video games/valuables are best left at home. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited due to safety. Nylon swimwear is recommended for all water attractions.
See Raging Waters Park Info for more information, dress code and code of conduct. Staff and parent volunteers will be accompanying the students and will remain through the day. We are hopeful that this event will be memorable one for the 8 th students.
GRADUATION CEREMONY - JUNE 11, 2008, 11AM

- 8th Graders must arrive at 10:30AM
- 11:00AM at the Egan outdoor amphitheater; reception follows the ceremony
Guests are welcome and do not need tickets. Graduation is a free event. Weather permitting, graduation will be outside. Parking in school parking lots is limited. Street parking is available, but you may need to walk several blocks to campus.
School dress code applies. Dressy casual: Please no tuxedos, jeans, or semi-formal dresses. Boys wear nice shirts and ties, jackets are optional. Girls wear summer dresses that would be appropriate for an afternoon party. (Strapless dresses are inappropriate for a Junior High graduation).
A reception with light refreshments will follow the graduation ceremony.
