EGAN'S 2006-07 STAR TEST RESULTS:
I am excited to share with you Egan’s API, Academic Performance Index, issued from the April/May 2007 STAR testing, California Standardized Testing and Reporting. Egan has the highest API score, 958, in the Valley, and was honored for being the 3rd top Jr. High in the state, Lodi Unified and Fremont Unified being 1 & 2. Congratulations to our teachers, staff, students, and supportive parent community.
One amazing score was last year's 7th grade class writing results:
- 40% of our students scored an 8, the highest possible score on the students’ actual writing
- 51% of our students scored a 6 – truly wonderful scores
I certainly want to send Kudos to our 7th grade English team, who developed an effective and strong writing program.
Some other wonderful indicators for our 7th grade students (our current 8th grade class) are the following:
- 90% of our 7th grade students were proficient or advanced in English Language Arts
- 86% were proficient or advanced in Math
And
- Last year’s 8th grade students were 89% proficient or advanced in Language Arts
- 85% in Algebra
- 80% in History
- 90% in science
Our academic program continues to build a strong foundation for our students’ future successes.
