EGAN BAND/ORCHESTRA INTRODUCTION TO LAHS
We have several activities to help Egan students’ transition to the music program at Los Altos High School.
The first this year will be a field trip to learn about the LAHS marching band. This will be open to any 7th or 8th grade band or orchestra student interested in marching band. It will take place on Nov. 7, in the morning, starting around 8:00 a.m. (before school starts, and continuing into the beginning of school). I do not have the details of time yet.
The next event will involve the 8th grade orchestra. They will take a trip to LAHS to rehearse with the LAHS orchestra sometime in early February during a school day. Then both 7th and 8th grade orchestras will participate in Strictly Strings rehearsal and concert at LAHS on Feb. 11 and 12 in the evening.
The next event will involve band students. They will participate in LAHS Band Night on the evening of February 9.
At several times throughout the school year, Mr. Ferrucci, the band and orchestra director at LAHS, visits Egan to work with, talk with, and answer questions from Egan students about the LAHS music program. Sometimes he is able to bring current high school students with him.
