PARENT INFO - INTRODUCTION
Helping Your Viking Excel
You've made an excellent choice sending your student to Egan. We hope you're ready to hit the ground running!
Your student will be taking on a lot more responsibility, academic challenge, and social pressure. Egan provides one of the best environments for their growth, but your personal support is still required for his or her success. Their needs are changing, so we have information on this web site to help you both make the transition smoothly.
We suggest you start by browsing the section called Student Life, beginning with Getting Started at Egan. Then come back here to the Parent Info section and browse the menu on the left — you'll find out how you can help your student succeed and how to get involved at Egan. Check frequently asked for answers to many of your student's first questions.
For those of you who are currently in sixth grade and plan to come to Egan next year or are transfering to Egan from another school, please start by looking at New Students under the Easing into Egan section.
Egan runs smoothly with the help of parents, and we can't do it all without you. There's not much time to familiarize yourself with all the options for helping — these two years go very fast. We've provided info here to help you match the needs to your interests and skills. Please check out the options on the Helping out at Egan page to see the choices avaiable to parents.
The two years at Egan go by very fast. You can get a comprehensive view of the information available on Egan's website on the Egan Index page. Take your time and get familiar with the information on the index page and enjoy the slideshow on Egan's Home page to familiarize yourself with Egan school.
If you still have questions, feel free to ask any PTA officer, other parents, or the Egan staff — don't be shy! We're looking forward to working together.
